We manufacture and supply Sodium Perborate of high purity. Our commercial grade is extremely pure, generally having an assay of greater than 99.5%. We also offer seived material of perfect size like fine, 20 to 40 mesh size and sugar crystal size. Our manufacturing process is adapted to give uniform size small and big crystals and we have improved the crystal shape and size to give it a longer stability and anticaking property. Sodium Perborate crystallizes as the monohydrate, NaBO3·H2O, trihydrate, NaBO3·3H2O and tetrahydrate, NaBO3·4H2O. The monohydrate and tetrahydrate are the commercially important forms. Sodium perborate releases oxygen rapidly at temperatures over 60°C. To make it active at lower temperatures (40–60 °C), it has to be mixed with a suitable activator, typically tetraacetylethylenediamine (TAED).

Sodium Perborate BP (Hydrated Sodium Perborate, Ph Eur monograph
NaBH2O4,3H2O --- 153.9 --- CAS 7632-04-4
Action and use: Antiseptic.

DEFINITION

Content: 96.0 per cent to 103.0 per cent.

CHARACTERS
Appearance: Colourless, prismatic crystals or white or almost white powder, stable in the crystalline form.
Solubility: Sparingly soluble in water, with slow decomposition. It dissolves in dilute mineral acids.

IDENTIFICATION
A. Mix 1 ml of a saturated solution with a mixture of 1 ml of dilute sulphuric acid and 0.2ml of a 70 g/l solution of potassium dichromate, shake with 2 ml of ether and allow to stand. A blue colour is produced in the ether layer.
B. The mixture obtained by treating about 100 mg with 0.1 ml of sulphuric acid and 5 ml of methanol burns with a greenish flame when ignited.
C. It gives reaction of sodium.

TESTS
Chlorides: Maximum 330 ppm.
Sulphates: Maximum 1.2 per cent.
Iron: Maximum 20 ppm.
Heavy metals: Maximum 10 ppm.

Uses: Sodium perborate serves as a stable source of active oxygen in many detergents and cleaning products. It is a less aggressive bleach than sodium hypochlorite and other chlorine-based bleaches, causing less degradation to dyes and textiles. Sodium perborate is also present in some tooth bleaching formulas for non vital root treated teeth. The compound has antiseptic properties and can act as a disinfectant. It is also used as a "disappearing" preservative in some brands of eye drops. Sodium perborate is also used as an oxidizing reagent in organic synthesis.
